Psalm 23

'Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh is the one who is shepherding me, I lack nothing' Psalm 23:1

Introduction

                 The main reason to push me to give you this Psalm 23 is this prayer is the oldest version of the very popular prayer that Jesus Christ teaches us in Matthew 6:9-13: 'Our Father in Haven...'. But I don't think that many Christians nowadays know by heart Psalm 23 than 'Our Father in Heaven...', because, all Christian churches don't say to learn Psalms 23 by heart. Also, that Psalms is longer than Matthew 6:9-13. However, I encourage you to read every day that Psalms 23 because of its very sweet prayer. That Psalm 23 is wrote by David... And please, if the Name of God is only 'The Lord' in your bible, I encourage you to change it when you read all verses in, because that is not His Saint Name: 'I Am Who I Am' in Exodus 3:14 or 'Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh' is the translation in Hebrew language.

Psalm 23

I Am Who I Am is the one who is shepherding me;
     I lack nothing.
He causes me to lie down in pastures of green grass;
     he guides me beside quiet waters.
He revives my life;
     he leads me in pathways that are righteous
         for the sake of his name.
Even when I walk through a valley of deep darkness,
    I will not be afraid
             because you are with me.
Your rod and your staff-they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me,
    even in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Truly, goodness and gracious love will pursue me
    all the days of my life,
    and I will remain in I Am Who I Am's Temple forever.

You see what a beautiful Psalm! I really like it and when I read it during my prayer, it is coming easily to my mouth. And after reading it many times during a year, I remember it without anymore open the bible in Psalm 23.
Let me to remain you that, 'The Lord' is not Name of God. And everybody can have that name 'The Lord'. He never said that we call Him 'The Lord'. In Exodus 3:14, it is clear that his real Name is 'I am Who I am' or 'Father' because Jesus Christ likes to use that Name... But forget about this 'The Lord' that is not a true Name. Then from now on, choose the real Name, and He allows us to call Him 'Father' as Jesus Christ like to call Him or 'I Am Who I Am' in Exodus 3:14... I will give you many Names of God that you can use in your prayers later.

Conclusion

               My target today is to encourage you to read Psalm 23. It is the old version of our popular 'Our Father in Haven...'. But, not because it is old version, then we ignore it. Because in our daily life, we don't like 'something' old. However, Psalms 23 is not an old fashion and, it will be never so... You can include Psalm 23 in your prayer now even your pastor or priest doesn't tell you to do so.
